Around here, this is the job
Humidity swells doors. Sand wrecks sliders. Storms find the weak weatherstrip. This is everyday work in a coastal market, and it is one of the fastest ways to make a house feel cared for.
How we do it
- 01
See if it is a hang, a slab, or a unit
A lot of ‘bad doors’ need a plane and new hardware, not a $4,000 entry. We will say which one you have.
- 02
Measure twice for replacements
Coastal homes are not always square. We measure the opening that exists, not the opening the brochure assumes.
- 03
Flash and seal exterior units
A new door that leaks is worse than the old one. Exterior replacements get sealed like they live next to weather — because they do.
- 04
Adjust, latch, done
We leave you with a door that latches in August and in January, as much as humidity allows.
What this usually includes
- Interior door rehang, plane, and hardware
- Exterior entry doors
- Sliding glass doors
- Window repair and select replacements
- Weatherstrip and threshold fixes
Questions we get
Can you fix a door that sticks every summer?
Usually. Humidity is real here. We can plane, adjust, and change hardware. If the slab is junk, we will tell you to replace it instead of shaving it every June.
Do you sell windows?
We can replace units and repair what should be repaired. For a whole-house window package we will talk through what is realistic and whether a consult is the right next step.
